# Understand the space goal in your proposal

Your space proposal, explained

SMILE\-FX / A proposal you can understand

If a clinician has already proposed work around an already\-missing tooth, understand what that proposal is trying to achieve, who owns the separate replacement decision, and what the next agreed review contributes.

Read at your pace. Every supplied statement and its interpretation is available in HTML, Markdown and print.

A useful conversation starts with a goal you can explain.

Space purpose. Separate responsibilities. A clear next discussion.

Three connected lessons

## A purpose. A responsibility. A meaningful review.

A worked reading of the purpose already stated in a missing\-tooth space proposal.

Read the orthodontic explanation and the separately attributed replacement decision in one supplied proposal.

[Follow the agreed review connection](/reading-a-coordinated-treatment-sequence)

Interpret one supplied review condition and its assigned responsibilities without inventing a clinical timetable.

## Turn a proposal into an explanation you can use

A plan becomes easier to discuss when you can describe its purpose in your own words. Start with what the clinician actually proposed. Then connect the purpose with the separate responsibility and the review that has been agreed. These three questions give you a way into the conversation without asking you to select treatment.

The lessons use one modest fictional proposal. You will see the supplied statements and a finished reading of each, including the point that still needs an answer. Read in order, or enter at the question you want explained.

## A goal you can discuss with your orthodontist

SMILE\-FX\-confirmed care policy and offerings: every\-patient orthodontist follow\-ups, standard monitoring and planning/preview offerings. The practice confirmed these descriptions; the linked pages provide limited background and practice information.

Board\-certified orthodontists see every SMILE\-FX patient, including at follow\-up visits. The Miramar practice offers full\-service orthodontics with a digitally driven clear\-aligner focus. That continuing clinical relationship gives your questions about the proposed orthodontic goal a responsible person to return to.

AI\-assisted planning and smile\-preview simulations provide something concrete to discuss. Standard smartphone monitoring brings progress information into the care conversation between visits. Those tools support your orthodontist's explanation; they do not supply the separately owned replacement service.

## Start with the words you were given

You do not need to judge the appearance of a gap to use this guide. Bring the explanation you already have and compare its meaning with the worked reading. For example, a stated purpose tells you what the proposed work is meant to contribute. A named review tells you which discussion that review is intended to inform. Neither sentence answers every question about the whole course.

When your own proposal differs, keep its actual words and ask your treating clinician to explain that difference. The examples are invented teaching situations, not patient stories, recommendations or a SMILE\-FX treatment offer.
